...The Guardian's choice of headline puts an unfortunate spin on the whole article I wrote for them, but I should have seen that coming!

Stockhausen died just before Christmas. Two weeks earlier he had just heard our recording of Stimmung and wrote to tell me how much he liked it. I was naturally delighted and also much relieved. He told me that he was mailing off to me the score of Düfte, Zeichen hoping that I will perform it. It arrived and later that day I opened my email to write and thank him - but instead I saw a message from the Stockhausen Foundation announcing his death.
